6 Amazing Applications For Construction Pros

From simple mobile apps to multi-million dollar management services, there have never been more software tools available for your construction management process. These are just a few interesting software applications that I’ve run across lately. All items are roughly ordered by price, from free to most expensive.

1. TrueLook Webcams & Time-Lapsing

Mobile App. Free!

How could we not mention our own app? The TrueLook app lets you view live webcam images from your jobsite, watch time-lapse videos, check live weather information, share/save webcam images, and more. You can even take pictures with your phone and upload them to the online photo album. The app is free, but you must use a TrueLook webcam to use it. There are free demo cameras in the app for anyone to play with, however.

3. Builder’s Helper

Mobile App. Price:$14.99

A fairly powerful little app! Comes with calculators for all sorts of “quick-jobs” like stairs, rafters, concrete, and many more. Store your notes, dimensoins, etc. in the app. Also has a handy calculator with a lot of features. If you’re just after a nice calculator, there is a free app by the same developer called Carpenter’s Helper Lite.

Web & Mobile App. Price:$0-$50/month

One of the hot new startups focused on construction professionals. Plangrid lets users view, markup, and share blueprints with ease on the iPhone or iPad. The goal is to increase efficiency while reducing rework caused by using old drawings. Definitely worth watching!
