Job Description
TrueLook is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the design, development, testing, and continuous improvement of the electrical systems that power our construction camera platforms, intelligent security products, and mobile surveillance trailers.
This role will be responsible for developing reliable, rugged electrical systems that operate in demanding outdoor environments. The ideal candidate has experience designing low-voltage DC power systems, solar and battery-powered applications, PoE networking, and integrated electronic products from concept through production.
Working closely with Operations, Production, Product Development, Service, and Sourcing, this individual will drive innovation while improving product reliability, manufacturability, serviceability, and overall cost.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design electrical systems for camera platforms, control boxes, and mobile surveillance trailers.
- Develop power architectures including AC/DC, DC/DC, solar charging, battery management, shore power, and PoE distribution.
- Create electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, Bills of Materials, and engineering documentation.
- Design rugged electrical systems for harsh outdoor environments.
- Support prototype development, product testing, validation, and field troubleshooting.
- Perform root cause analysis and implement design improvements to improve product reliability.
- Partner with Production to improve manufacturability, quality, and assembly processes.
- Work with Sourcing to evaluate components, qualify suppliers, and reduce product costs.
- Develop engineering standards, testing procedures, and electrical design documentation.
- Provide technical leadership for new product development and continuous improvement initiatives.
Experience & Qualifications:
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
- 5+ years of experience designing electrical products.
- Experience with low-voltage DC power systems.
- Experience with battery-powered and solar-powered systems.
- Knowledge of AC/DC and DC/DC power conversion.
- Experience creating electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Preferred
Experience with:
- IP surveillance systems
- PoE (IEEE 802.3af/at/bt)
- Solar charging systems
- Lithium and AGM battery systems
- Industrial controls
- Mobile equipment or trailers
- LTE/5G networking
- AutoCAD Electrical, SolidWorks Electrical, Altium, or similar CAD software
- UL, NEC, NEMA/IP, and FCC standards
