Privacy Policy

Effective May 25, 2018; Last Updated: January 22, 2024

This privacy policy describes the information TrueLook about you and how it is used. This privacy policy applies to personal information collected by or on behalf of TrueLook (the “TrueLook,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), including information collected through our websites linking to this privacy policy, truelook.com and app.truelook.com  (collectively, the “Site”) by email, phone or other offline contacts, and anywhere else we display this privacy policy (collectively, the “Services”). We also have mobile applications as part of the Services, but they only redirect to our websites to access the Services online. By using or interacting with the Services, you accept and consent to the terms of this privacy policy in effect at the time of your use.

Personal information is information that directly or indirectly identifies you or can be used to identify you as an individual. The following are the categories of personal information we may collect about you and how we collect it:

Information Users Provide. We collect personal information that you provide when you visit or interact with the Services. For example, you may provide your first and last name, an email address, a phone number, company you work for and job title if you request a quote on truelook.com. In addition, we collect any other comments you choose to provide in your quote request.

Our customers are other businesses. We collect some if not all of the following information regarding our customers’ representatives: first and last name, job title, company name, email address, secondary email address, phone number (office and mobile), shipping address and billing address. Such representatives who log in to an account with us to access the Services will also have a user name and password to access their business account with us. They determine their own password after receiving an initial or temporary password (which we do not know). We also know the general location of cameras our business customers install to use our services.

We also collect and maintain personal information if you are a job applicant or candidate and apply for job openings with us. This personal information includes, but is not limited to job applicant or candidate first and last name, email address, telephone number, physical address, gender, ethnicity, disability and veteran status, educational history, professional references, job history and any other information you choose to provide as part of your resume or application for employment. We collect and maintain this information to determine eligibility for employment, including verification of references and qualifications; assessing qualifications for a particular job; complying with applicable laws, regulations, and statutes, or for such other purposes as are reasonably required by us as otherwise set forth in this privacy policy; or to communicate with you about your application for employment or potential job openings. We may share this information with our service providers as necessary for the purposes of determining your eligibility and qualifications.

The information you provide is completely voluntary and you can choose not to provide personal information to us. However, some information about you is generally required to respond to your requests and provide our Services to you or your company, as applicable, and without it we may not be able to respond to your requests or provide our Services.

Information from Third Parties. If you connect with us or interact with us or our Services through third-party sites or applications, the third party may send us your information such as your profile information from that platform. This includes when you log in to your account with us using a third-party application such as Procore or Autodesk or engage with us on our social media pages.

If you use our Services on behalf of a business or your employer, we may receive verification from such party you are their authorized user (including name, job title, and an email or phone number).

From time to time, we reach out to prospective customers of our own initiative whose business representatives we have identified (with name, job title, company, and an email and/or phone number) from public sources like social media, business contact databases and industry groups.

Camera Data. Our business customers use our Services to help secure their construction sites, work sites, premises and facilities (collectively, “Customer Premises”). Our customers are responsible to provide adequate notice cameras are in use on the Customer Premises. We do not control Customer Premises or how customers use our Services in their operations. When a customer uses a camera to help promote security and safety on the Customer Premises, the camera will “see” and record individuals on the premises (lawfully or not, including authorized personnel and trespassers). As part of our Services, our customers can go back and review the camera-captured images (“Camera Data”). We collect images of individuals on Customer Premises as part of Camera Data solely for our customers’ business purposes. These images may capture information provided by third parties, our customers, via their work sites and premises when occasionally, the camera may scan a name badge or other identifying information displayed by or on the individual that reveals who they are. However, almost always, we (TrueLook) have no way to identify who the individual is, though our customers often have a better sense of who they are. We do not seek to identify anyone on a Customer Premises shown in the Camera Data, though our customer and sometimes law enforcement, government agencies and other third parties may endeavor to do so in connection with a legal claim, legal investigation, legal matter, legal proceeding, workplace injury, accident, theft, vandalism or unauthorized conduct.

We and our services providers supporting our websites also automatically collect certain information when you access our websites to help us maintain, improve, and personalize the online experience.
