My Top 10 Recommended Construction Industry Blogs and News Websites

It’s been a while since we did a roundup of all our favorite construction industry blogs, so we thought we would update our list. When we’re not digging into our own blog, these are the blogs that we have been enjoying most over the past year.

In no particular order:

1. AEC Business

This is a great blog by management consultant Aarni Heiskanen. Heiskanen really knows the industry and shares from his personal experience. He is also personable and helpful, which earns him two big thumbs up from us. This blog has been on our list for a while now and has garnered some well-earned attention in the space. https://aec-business.com/

2. Engineering News-Record

When it comes to construction industry blogs, ENR is great news source, and one you have almost certainly heard of. With so many editors and so much daily content, they are a great resource for interesting and noteworthy construction news. https://www.enr.com/blogs

3. Redshift by Autodesk

In their own words,Redshift focuses on “the future of making: how products, buildings, and cities will be built tomorrow—and even 100 years from now.” So they cover a lot more than just construction, specifically. They dig into construction, architecture, infrastructure and and manufacturing technology.  https://www.autodesk.com/redshift

4. JBKnowledge

I was first introduced to JBKnowledge when I attended a Procore Groundbreak session led by JBKnowledge founder, James Benham. His focus centers around how construction can benefit from technology and I love his energy. A log of his posts tie in with the podcasts, so check them both out. https://jbknowledge.com/technology-news-and-blog

5. Procore

As construction professionals, many of you are in Procore all day everyday, but how often do you check out their blog? A lot of the posts on their blog focus on Procore features, but they also share some good industry information as well. https://blog.procore.com/

6. Procore’s Jobsite

Is it more industry trends you are looking for and less “Procore News” and features? Procore also has a blog for that. Check out their “Jobsite.” https://jobsite.procore.com/

7. Construction Dive’s Deep Dive

As the name suggest, it’s a deep dive into the construction industry. The site’s journalists discuss trends and topics on the top of everyone’s minds. https://www.constructiondive.com/deep-dive/

8. Construction Informer

This blog by Duane Craig also features interviews, posts by contributors, and some other resources. Blog posts are insightful and meaningful, and Craig is actively engaged in his project. Definitely worth a subscribe. https://constructioninformer.com/blog/

9. Construction Marketing Association Blog

This one is a little different than the others in the list. This is a marketing blog, but one designed specifically for the construction industry. They conduct annual reader surveys and share the results. They also offer some guides and case studies, which offer good information with which to arm yourself. https://blog.constructionmarketingassociation.org/

10. Building Design + Construction

This blog is updated fairly regularly with a variety of thought provoking posts. https://www.bdcnetwork.com/blogs

Bonus Blog: The Festool Blog

This isn’t really a “construction industry” blog in the sense that we have been discussing, but it’s a great blog for those who like to create. And who don’t love a good Festool tool – all nice and tucked away in their beautiful, stackable cases. *sigh* Festool features some really interesting people and projects here and it’s worth checking out! https://www.festool.com/blog

That’s it for now – is there anyone that we missed?
